Its mostly 3 pages of people in denial.

Now i will admit that i bought the wrong car for my needs, but there were 3 reasons for that.

1) the Yeti was $200,000nt cheaper than the octavia

2) at the time of buying i never carried much for work

3) the raving reviews for this best car in the world and its amazing boot thats MASSIVE!!!!!!!!

The 3rd one really ****es me off, its not big at all and a major letdown.

And lastly the interior plastics are not good, please go sit in an octavia or superb and come back and tell me that the Yeti has just as much soft touch plastics.... go on i dare you!.

We are in denial? Denial from what?:giggle: I can't remember ever reading another post before where the person who admits they bought the wrong car, says everyone else is in denial. It's really quite hilarious tbh

And you don't seem to be reading peoples posts correctly. You 'dare' people to look at the octavia's interior? People posting here have owned both! Ive owned both and had the use of a superb 140tdi elegance for five days. I know my feelings as I made my purchase based on those feelings!

Oh and ive never ever read a review saying that the Yeti is the best car in the world nor saying it had a MASSIVE boot! Are you reading reviews of the right car? :p

I'm personally amazed how you can miss that one. The boot isn't that much larger than my wife's Fabia, but that said, we're just 3,500km into our summer holiday and the Fabia coped well with luggage for four.

Given the need to carry dogs, it was almost ruled out in comparison to the Octavia / Superb... but we decided that the 4x4 was the more practical option. Living miles up muddy or rocky single track lanes, the height and ground clearance make getting about much easier. Getting a factory fit towbar and a dog trailer makes for a better compromise for the few days a year we need to transport animals.

Did that. The Yeti plastics are above the Octavia and on a par with the Superb, but I guess it depends which model in the range you compare with.

It sounds as if someone confused the Range Rover tests he was reading with those of the Yeti. Bless. A "massive" boot?! Not a single post in this thread or this forum has ever claimed the Yeti has a "massive" boot either. Most people state the need to pack vertically etc. How that can be read as "denial" is anyone's guess.

A Yeti E does not equal a Superb or Octavia. And we are talking of a Yeti E here I'm afraid. So don't paint all Yetis with that brush.

Sour grapes as I said before. Go read your OWN posts on your car from before on this forum. Now come read the rubbish you now wrote here?! Same car? Same person?! In life it is best to be consistent for people to take any notice of you. You'd have had a whole different response here had you just said: "I'm selling my Yeti. I realised the boot is too small as my circumstances have changed." But this childish justification of what you did won't make sense to a five year old let alone to the rest of us that have been in or owned all the cars you are on about.

Keep face and just let this die now please. You are just digging a deeper hole for yourself. Enjoy the Octavia and think twice before repeating this bile on the Octavia forum.

I like interior quality discussions!

To be honest, I have to say the Octavia has more soft touch plastic, as OP says, it has soft touch door top in addition to the dash.

However, if we compare quality else where, such as lower dash (transmission tunnel), the Yeti has slightly better quality plastic, well as mentioned it is all subjective.

I agree the Octavia is good value and I really like the Scout. However, the Octavia is really a small family car (ie a Golf to S40 sized car), the cheapest of such class of car was I remember a Chevrolet Lacetti with Leather on sale for 7 grand brand new (YES, brand new on Motorpoint)

However, the Yeti is a cross-over and Yeti represent excellent value in the sector.

Back to interior quality - the X1 has worse interior than the Yeti when soft touch material is to be compared alone! Oh, and although the Tiguan has soft touch FRONT door cap, the rear door caps are hard.

On boot space, I am with the OP here, but I used to have an old Audi A6. We also have an X5 (very poor boot), had an old range rover (better boot, high lip), Trooper (probably the most practical), I have to say there are always compromise in the design and the practicality, if the Yeti has an extended boot (a la the Chinese version) it would be more practical, but it is so ugly!

On another note, I have recently bought some leatherette which I am hoping to cover the front console cover (around A/C and Radio), would post pics when I finish.

Johann,

You get the Emperor's New Clothes Award. The little child is and has always been my idol.

I look at your avatar and see a man... but your responses are of a child being told his toy isnt as good as another one!.

Oh and i didnt make a loss on selling my car, 6 month waiting list plus a huge price hike means i make money after owning it for 9 months.

I basically just rented the car for peanuts and got all my peanuts back B)

I'm confused. A while ago someone with the forum name with initials S B L (with the last word being "love"), posted this........

"Oh god, now i remember why i stopped posting

The topic is about the DSG gearbox and my username can be taken in many different ways by PC people.

I like to think it means i love the homeless. ;) "

So has he/she stopped posting as indicated above and ceased winding up the management (as they were determined to do at the time, I recall) or are they still here and winding everyone else up instead?

I think you've lost me in translation.......?

You need to read Hans Christian Andersen's "The Emperor's New Clothes"

...at the end a small child calls everybody's bluff.

For goodness sake, you bought the wrong car. I bought the Yeti because I wanted a good, compact 4x4 and that is what it is, I love it. Move on.

When I posted this

You should know that you're not supposed to criticise the Yeti - especially in a Yeti thread lol! ;)

at the beginning of the thread I didn't quite expect to see some of the replies given but given that we're in the Yeti sub forum it's only to be expected that there's more 'pro' than 'anti' support isn't there.

I'd like to congratulate Yeti-RS on the forethought (or just plain luck!) to get 9 months use out of a new car and then get his money back - I can't see it catching on in a big way with the dealers in the UK though.

Now you know what a good boy I'm being - a Yeti thread which has degenerated into a slanging match, and I've had absolutely nothing to do with it
