Clutch / flywheel

Featured Replies

Hi All!

In the last few weeks and after hitting 100k the faithful vRS has developed a clutch judder. Only happens under load when pulling away in 1st gear - no vibrations or juddering when in neutral etc.

I'm guessing all i'd need to replace to fix this is clutch only, flywheel should be OK?

Anyone used, dare i say it....... Mr. Clutch??

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Sounds more like duel mass flywheel seizing up to me causing it to judder

G60/VR6 conversion

Go for the G60 flywheel and the VR6 Clutch

don't go near mr clutch!!!

i used to be a branch manager and there clutches are ****e!! they make there own in there factory in kent.

go G60 flywheel with vr6 clutch, this is a truly amazing conversion and makes a hell of a difference for less money than replacing the standard clutch and flywheel.

last one i did took me less than 3 hrs on my back in a mates workshop!!!

Im going to do that conversion as my clutch has started slipping on full boost in 3rd and 4th, just not got round to it yet

Can't fault my local Mr Clutch. They fitted what i supplied to them and did a great job on a previous car. I guess it comes down to what branch you use, but let's face it they need to be pretty good at replacing clutches as it's their main specialism, or they wouldn't stick around very long.

Cheers lads, I've been reading up on the g60/vr6 conversion and I may go down this route, is it a straight swap out or is anything extra required? (not after specifics just wanna know what I'm letting myself in for!)

for the conversion you need

G60 flywheel

Shorter flywheel bolts from VAG

VR6 clutch kit

Clutch bolts

thats it as far as i can gather.

thats because they fitted what you gave them, there own product is very poor

they employee anyone who knows how to pick a spanner up but not nec know how to use it.

the G60 conversion is a straight forward swap over with the parts listed above B)

All booked in, I have heard this makes the clutch very light, other than this I'm not sire what else happens!!

It bites instantly to.

Guys had one from euro parts and is absolutely fine (over a year)a vr6 complete, a really good buy.
