Oil change to 10/w40 on first service

Featured Replies

I'd be getting this Oil for Petrol vRS

Over priced imo Cheaper here for either fixed 5w40 or variable 5w30 ;)

good prices on that link, they must buy off us when on offer then resell on

New Petrol cars will be safe on VW504.0

New Diesel cars will be safe on VW507.0

The 504/507 oil is usually the same and has both on the bottle (Longlife III).

VW505.0 is a diesel oil from a long time ago and is no good for PD cars.

If that is the case, 504 is still wrong, 507 00 covers everything.

That's what I meant, most dealers simply use 507 00

Can't recall the numbers now but my owners manual specifically states the identical 505.xx oil should be used whether on fixed or variable servicing. (VRS CR 2011).

Have a feeling the "long life" reference is only relevant to older spec oils.

As I said before all dpf equipped cars must have 507.00. This is the top spec that Vag do so safe for all.

For diesels then yes got to be 507 5w30 no questions.

Petrol you can change between 5w30 and 5w40 the later being slightly thicker and in my personal opinion better for mapped cars if you change your oil often.
