hey all im looking to buy a new car radio/CDplayer, most most likely to be from Halfrauds :( and im wondering if anyone could tell me what yo get in the box? (seems like a supid qustion) but you look at the cd player on the website and it says people also bought "harness, booster ect ect" but ive been told that they all come with the new cd player. can anyone shed some light on this and tell me if i get everythng you need with the cd player

Many thanks James :)

The leads the CD player comes with is a lead which converts the company specific connections into an ISO plug, you will need to buy an adator from ISO to skoda, something like this:

Just make sure its the correct one for the car. You would get one in halfrauds, if you mention the car its going in they will get you the right leads to convert it, hope that helps mate.

The only 'conversion' which needs doing is the 2 power leads. Don't waste your money on one of those blocks just swap the red and yellow wire. Go for a Sony unit and it gives you the plugs to do it. Only othe thing you will need is the plastic strip which fits below the switches (dealer for this)

My Alpine was the same, swapped in the bullet connectors that are in the stereo wiring. Easy.

Pioneer too. You'll have enough trouble getting all the wires and connectors back behind the stereo as it is, so even if your choice of stereo has no facility just cut and solder.

I got fed up with the Symphony CD player swallowing up my CD's so went for a radio that plays a SD Micro Card / USB Memory stick, and can connect to an IPod (whatever that is).

The radio I opted for was a Beat 175, cheap and cheerful I know but it gives excellent reception and a bonus of over four hundred hours of music without having to change a disc.

Another bonus was it's very compact with masses of room behind the set for the wiring, all for thirty eight pounds.

The only thing I had to buy was the aerial lead amplifier / adaptor and the plastic strip to fit below the switches.

Ahh someone else has bought a Beat 175!. Fitted mine Friday using an Autoleads converter and aerial booster. All worked great till Monday(last night) when the Beat just died!

Refitted the Skoda unit,Fine. So its got to be the beat?or is there anything I missed?

I will be ringing the supplier today.

Sorry to hear that Mickey, could be a dodgy set, lets know how you get on.

The only leads I connected where the Pos. Neg. and the permanantly live for the memory.
