Quick question, is the gearbox on my octavia vrs the same as a gearbox off a 150bhp 2wd elegance version?

Any 02J box will fit on but its the 3 letter code that's the important bit. EHA is the one you need.

Iirc the vRS box is one of the fastest 5 speed 02J boxes out there. Iirc.

dunno if it's any help but my 52 reg 1.8t elegance has a box code;

EVS according to the sticker under the boot carpet

If O2J's are like O2M's, there can be large differences between the sub-models of the box

Not just ratios etc, some O2M have significantly different sized and shaped cases

it's a 1.8T elegance though, which has very similar ratios IIRC
