Possible Central Locking problem

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, I yesterday bought a 2008 Skoda Fabia 1.2 1, and have a question about the central locking.

It might just be me being thick, but I dont think it's working properly. If I lock the car (with the key as I dont have remote central locking), it only locks the drivers door and the boot. The other 3 doors stay open. The only way I can find to lock everything is if I get back in, press the internal button for locking all the doors and then get out and lock the drivers door with the key. When I unlock the door again, the other 3 doors are still locked. So it seems to me there might be a problem with the locking mechanism in the drivers door as the central locking works from the internal lock/unlock switches near the gear stick. What are your thoughts?

Many thanks in anticipation

Adam

What about the passenger door? (edit: ok just thought about that, the newer models don't have lock barrels on the passenger side do they?)

Is it still under warranty?

Just tried the passenger side and that locks everything as Id expect it to from the drivers side. Its like its been set up to lock from the wrong side or something. I do have a warranty on it.

Was a loose connection. Fixed under the warranty. :-)

Good news :)
