Octavia vRS alloys on my Fabia vRS...

Featured Replies

I am going to get some Octavia vRS Estate alloys on my car (I think), the tyre diameter is 205/50 R 16, my Fabia vRS tyres are 205/55 R 16's, will my tyres fit on alloys from the Octavia vRS Estate, also on the 16" Octavia vRS alloys are they a different diameter from the Fabia vRS alloys (which are PCDx100 I think - I have no idea what this means :D).

Thanks

You will just need to swap your current tyres onto the new wheels to maintain the same circumference. Your tyre size is 205/45/16.

Edit: Ignore me! MUPPET! I'm off now to fall asleep in a lecture hall! *yawn!

Standard Fabia vRS - 205/45 16

Standard 16" Octavia vRS - 205/55 16

As Dave quite rightly pointed out, just swap the tyres over.

I'm not sure what the Octy vRS typres look like, does anyone have a pic they could post.

Thanks

Why change 16" wheels for 16" wheels? I'm puzzled by this one.

You aint the only one.

Thanks, I thought I had drunk too much cider tonight........

well bigger wheels can affect handling. also they can weigh more so slow it down etc etc also possible increase in tyre cost

True but its got 16's on it anyhow, and the Octy ones dont look that much different, he says he aint got money to burn, so i dont get it.

I think the Furby ones look better than the Octy 16" wheels... I cant understand it either. But each to their own.

I always thought the Octavia alloys were 17" ..???? They look it anyway

They look quality!!!! How would I get hold of some of those? Go through the dealer? Does anyone know how much they are and can you get them in 16's or 17's?

Thanks

There are a set of Octy 17's on sale in the classified forum on here.

And Dave, the estate has 16's

i love the look of the vrs's 17's

Oh right :o

Seems odd- the estates a bigger car therefore needs bigger alloys

The Fab vRS looks well smart with the Octy alloys though

Different suspension and no rear bracing measn Skoda dont fit 17's to the estate bodyshell.

I know the 17" inch ones will look better, however there IS still a large difference in look between the 16" Fabia vRS alloys and the 16" Octavia vRS alloys.

Also like my good friend dogmaul172 (or mcbunny) points out I think there are a few too many negative factors here (for me anyway):-

Increase in tyre cost

Extra road noise

Handling balance affected

Harsher ride

May affect insurance

Positive aspects of the 16" Octavia vRS alloys:-

Still look different

No change to road noise

Handling unaffected

Ride quality unaffected

90% of the looks

Cost less to buy/maintain

Thanks to the input I am now also aware I can just switch my current tyres which are on my Fabia vRS over onto the newly aquired Octavia vRS alloys.

 Thanks for the responses, btw does anyone know if they will need spacers etc, or should they be a straight swap?

Thanks, Chris.
