Mk3 Golf ones fit with a bit of careful bending of the ends :)

Otherwise you can get Milotec ones but they're expensive - about 70 quid if I recall.

nice one is there some drilling to be done there ill have to get some golf ones

No drilling with the Mk3 ones - you can use the existing wing and bonnet bolt holes.

what about the one on the LCR?

all the pics Ive seen of them have a strut?

Might need drilling tho?

I have some I got ages ago but I found they push the bonnet all the way up to the stops and it puts preasure on the hinges so took them off.

Are they like the Golf one that has a bracket welded to the strut top?

I warmed the metal a bit with a heat gun then used a vice and some gentle persuasion :)

I will need to find a vice and a heat gun then lol. Since you already have them, how much does piston rub against the base bit? Because I am thinking about painting them but don't want to do it for it to rub off.

Don't these struts get in the way when working on the side of the engine - say when doing a cambelt change? I am sure they would on my TDI.... I can imagine one being just in the way of my head when I was looking for a mystery/hidden bolt to remove (or somesuch).
