Quick question, can the radio be fitted below the cubby hole.

If so how easy please.

Cubby hole and radio are just DIN sized units so you should be able to pull them out and swap over.

Open the ash tray and pull the bottom of the trim forward to remove it.

Then you need the stereo removal keys - or a hacksaw blade - to pop the stereo out.

I can't remember how the stock head unit fastens in though - it's a while since I removed mine.

iirc the OE stero uses a standard din cage, with those evil little tabs pressed out

As you can see in Rob's photo, the top section has more space behind it, due the plastic framework

No, there is no cage for the stereo it just clips into the dash.

another removal tool is thin metal clip from a ballpoint pen, the one that allows you to clip it on your pocket
