Relpace bulbs in electric mirror

Featured Replies

Has anyone an idea how to replace the white downlight (puddle light) on a Superb 2 without wrecking the unit!

Thanks.

( Sorry cant spell REPLACE) !!!!!!!!!

If it's anything like the Octavia you first need to remove the mirror glass.

Once that is removed the retaining screws for the clear puddle light lens can be removed exposing the bulb.

Adjust the mirror all the way down so that it is looking at the floor, this then allows you to get your fingers behind it and gently tease it off the plastic securing clips.

Been to Beadles (The dealer) and no one has done it yet!!!!!!

They assume it is the same as the Octavia by removing the heated mirror glass to gain access to the inside of the unit.

I will try it ASAP but a bit busy working at the moment so it not a major priority at the moment.

I WILL do it soon and keep you all informed of the result.

Thanks for the pictures and the advice. I didnt think the mirrors would need can bus but I will get some more before attempting it. No point in risking the mirror glas twice!!:thumbup:

I did as the pictures above show, release the mirror at the top first then adjust the mirror up and release the bottom. The mirror will then hang on the heater wires.

Remove bulb holder and replace bulb. Refit bulb holder and pop the glass back on.

JOB DONE

Thanks to silver1011 and alberg

Result!

No broken mirror glass either, double result :giggle:
