Just having a couple of thoughts, so what do you reckon?

Is this a thread on threads thread :D

Personally I do enjoy a good car debate.Nice to see a bit of passion

and by the way I do think my wife's fabia vRS is quicker than my Octy vRS.Honest!

you cant be trying hard enough in the octy... ;) it'll be the torque though. the Fabia makes more than the Octy in standard trim.

Leave things as they are, or even relax the rules further. Any attempts at utopian/ pinko / liberal / communistic / censorship should and will be resisted violently (and this means with the use of violence if necessary).

I like the utopian ideal, and not just because its in my Briskoda ID. ;)

Can we have an 'Undecided' option for senior citizens, please?

EDIT:

I'd like to see some more balanced options in the poll.

I'd like to see this thread locked' date=' but I'll hold off for now.

Why lock it?

Surely people have the "right" to say what they want to see? Do they think the current threads which appear on this board, with their blend of information, humour, urine extraction etc are what they want to read, or, do they want threads which are "dry" and are only about technical subjects relating to Skodas or as a final option, a half way house between the 2, but where freedom of expression, within the bounds of the posting guidelines (which we all signed up to) is suppressed as it doesn't fit with the ideals of a/some/all moderators.

I had already edited my post, it does need change but possibly not locking...

Your options are skewed, in my opinion, towards a certain view, the only "honest" outcome from this is discussion, not a \ b \ c...

We should have a massive free for all :D

We should have a massive free for all :D

  Try it for one day.See peoples true coloursand then ban them

..and who would like to deal with the legal implications of what was posted on that free for all day? :D

Well volunteered :D:rofl:

On a serious note just leave things be, we have a good percentage of decent post.

I want to see more threads like these:

My main interest is car-related threads but I look at/get involved with other threads selected from the new posts list. I don't want to see Briskoda become just a diesel/petrol heads forum. The wider the audience the more the benefit for us all. No one is forced to look at any thread or post and we shouldn't pander to those who look at posts in the hope they might find something they find offensive so they can kick up about it.

I think we should have a thread about this thread-related thread.

Hang on, I've lost my thread........

Seriously, why change a winning concept?

Phil

More humour , more discussion , more debate ...........and a lot less locking of threads at the first sniff of trouble ..........

I'm new here but I've seen this come up time and time again on all sorts of forums. There obviously has to be some kind of moderation to stop people litterally slagging each other off but...

...surely there will never be any legal implications whatever people say, I mean Briskoda doesn't take any responsibility for anything posted and why should it - surely the only people who can get in trouble if any are the posters?

It's a grey area - the site *is* the responsibility of whoever maintains it, and it's them who will be held accountable...

In the US.....

Not sure how the owner can ever be seen as accountable for stuff he didn't write, but still, I don't know who owns this site but they are of course entitled to do whatever they like! It seems to have worked so far:)

Not sure how the owner can ever be seen as accountable for stuff he didn't write,

In a capacity as a "publisher".

If someone set up a website which featured a photo gallery, and it was hijacked by paedos, the website owner could find themself in serious trouble.

Besides which, how many posters' addresses here are easily accessible? If someone was seeking to take legal action against the site, they'd get their solicitor to send a letter to the address to which the site was registered. Which is the website owner's address...

I think we have quite a good balance at the moment - good spread of motor/life and urine extraction

Apart from a thread about telling people to search and use their brains before posting threads that have been repeated umpteen times before, and locking any that do. I think we should stay as we are, or even relax a bit as you won't please everyone someone will always be offended by something, so thets just offend everyone, then no-ones happy.
