thinking of getting a Sea Ibiza SC

Featured Replies

my pcp ends next year on my skoda.I'm wanting a 3 door next but since skoda doesn't do one i'm looking at the vw polo but mainly at the Ibiza SC.

I've got a test drive in a few weeks time at Seat Huddersfield.has anyone one driven/got one if so what's it like ?

thanks

What engine will you be looking at? I used to own one

my daughter has a 14se dont go for the 14cc very under powered the 12tsi is far far better. I woulden't buy one my self again I did own one for 6 month TDI SPORT but not all that keen on it.

i was looking at the 1.2 70ps and the 1.4 85ps engines.

i owned the 1.6 petrol 105ps and tbh it wasnt great, the car was brilliant to drive round corners but it wasnt very powerful other than round town, motorways you were always left wanting more, and although SEAT claimed 45mpg combined, my 2 year average was 31.2 which I thought was terrible. I can only imagine the 1.4 or 1.2 would struggle even more.

To be honest I'd steer clear of both of those, I also had the 1.4 16v and it wasn't great. For an all round SC I'd buy the 1.2 TSI

I had a testdrive in the 2.0 TDI FR. Nice car but VERY cramped and felt quite sluggish compared to fab vRS....

I had the new polo 1.4 before my vrs a little slow for my liking but plenty of poke for most people.

Test driven the ibiza with the 1.6 deisel and although the deisel was better, overall the car felt a lot more plasticy and stiffer than my polo in an uncomfortable way.

One thing i would say is that for the money the spec will be better on the ibiza

personally i wouldnt buy one below the FR TDI, enough torque to make it feel nicely quick enough, and when i test drove it, spiritedly shall we say, it returned 45mpg.

motorway cruise youd get 60 easy!

A guy on scn remapped the 2.0 fr tdi and was getting 185 bhp and 415 NM. I would have got one but insurance was ridiculous as its a 2.0
