Fabia Running Problems

Featured Replies

I have a 2001 Fabia 1.9SDI estate, the other day I went into town, on the way back the glow plug warning light started flashing, then the car started losing power, it finally cut out completely. When I tried to restart it, the engine ran for a short time misfiring and then cut out completely. I drove it round the block yesterday, it starts , but runs really rough with a bad misfire, juddering and lots of blue smoke comes from the exhaust.Any ideas???

Blue smoke suggests oil. You've no turbo so suspect head gasket. Any oil in water or water in oil?

Could be a broken ring, but unlikely. You need a compression test as a first check. Hope it's cheap.
