4 year service - Cambelt?

Featured Replies

Skoda UK revised their stance about 2 years ago, after several belt failures before the 100K and customers rightly kicking off at them when following THEIR advice in the book.

The 4 year limit has always been banded about as long as I've owned Skoda's (2nd Octavia now), it's just the mileages Skoda kept changing over the last 4 years. Up down, up, down. Finally they're set a limit for all cars. I think Diesels get a bit more unless they've now set everything at 40k.

if it has been the stance for years then why has my 2010 octy got 100k in my book with no reference to age. Smells fishy to me I'm afraid. They could easily put an addendum in the service book or write to you.

Ask Tech1e as he'll know better.

100k is for CR engines I think and probably for the TSI ones too.

Aren't the TSI and CR's chains rather than belts?

TSI's (EA888 engine) are chain driven , TFSI (EA113) are belt.

All Diesels are belt driven.
