vRS side repeaters - discontinued !?!

Featured Replies

I noticed the nearside side repeater on my vRS was stuck on with bluetack as a clip was broken so I ordered a new one from Skoda. They said the part number I gave them was for a fabia smoked side repeater but that it had been discontinued. He said the replacement part the computer gives is the octavia part so I ordered what they said.

Well I picked it up today and it doesn't look as dark as the original one which I don't like as it wont be symmetrical even though you can never see both at the same time to compare.

To top it off when I went to fit it I removed the old broken one and the bulb and wire dropped off inside the bodywork.

How do I get to this? Do I need to take the arch liner out?

On a plus note I had a Pioneer 3300BT double DIN headunit fitted today and it looks the shiznitz!

I have one of these for just such an scenario.

Handy for picking up dropped tools/nuts/bolts under the bonnet

which end up on top of the undertray.

It's just like the thingy on Total Recall that Arnie has to

stick up his hooter to remove the tracking device from his head.

If it's good enough for Arnold, it's good enough for me. :giggle:

Ha ha. I remember that bit when he pulls the glowing marble thing out of his nose. Minging!

Thanks but you can't actually see where it has dropped away to. It's pitch black. Maybe a special ops version with a snake cam attached. Could be pricey though!

Yea whip a couple of the bottom bolts off on arch liner, then you should be able to put your arm through and feed the wire back through the hole!

who told you they were discontinued? granted once stock runs out it does change to the octavia one but theres still 22 of the fabia ones left in uk stock

I just got a mental image of say, 30 years in the future... People with vRS's trying to restore them and the smoked side repeater to the correct darkness being "the" required part to finish of ya resto project.. teehee!

The parts guy at Farmers Skoda in Leicester advised they were discontinued. Thinking I will have to buy another to match them now.

How do you remove them by the way. It looks like you push them towards the front of the vehicle but it seems pretty solid when I tried it.

That is the part number I gave them over the phone and was advised as per my original post that part was now discontinued and was replaced with an alternative octavia one.

just ask them to check stock at the main warehouse and they'll see there is still stock left and should order you one
