Monte Carlo - new build times?

Featured Replies

My wife's Fiat 500 has just gone 3 years old, so it was time for a change - the last couple of family cars have both been Skoda (Octavia Estate, and currently a Superb estate) and we're really pleased with them, so off we go to Skoda.....

Liked the Monte Carlo, and the offer of 20% off, 3 years servicing and 3 years RAC is a tempting one, but sadly there were none around ready to be picked up in a sensible colour (ie not yellow), and the 20% offer isn't on new builds (it reduces to 15%)

Went to look at the DS3 (lovely, with great seats), Polo (very dull) and another 500 (much better built now than they were 3 years ago) - but the deals available were nowhere near what Skoda were offering...you are even forced to pay for breakdown cover for the first year with Citroen!

In the end we ordered a new build 1.2 Monte Carlo in white, didn't need/want any extras, and we got a price we were really happy with..had been reading about long delays on here for new builds that were a little worrying.

Have been quoted a build week in early October, so hopefully the car by early November at the latest, or should we be expecting this to slip - would appreciate any comments/experiences.

I was quoted 26 weeks at the beginning of April. Build week 35 has been confirmed, two weeks time, so all going well I'll have her after a 25 - 26 week wait. Bang on time. But some haven't been so lucky.

I've ordered a CR TDi BTW.

1.2 monte with DSG you might be looking at next year, there has been shocking waits especially on the 1.2dsg monte be prepared for a long wait a very long wait!!!

Great and hopefully you get it on time but things (per all the comments on this forum) appear to be all over the place on Fabias. Reality is it seems purely pot luck when they arrive.

Keep us posted

Does the Monte have a DSG option?

Ordered mine in mid May and given an early Aug delivery date.

Opted to get it in Sept and given a build week of 35 with delivery in mid Sept, so far on track.

Same as me! Wife has 3 year old fiat 500 and we've decided to get a 1.2 monte. In black. Ordered July just got build date of nov 28th week. So a rather long wait of 5-6 months!!!

Lots of extras so that might have delayed it.

No DSG with the Monte

1.2tsi dsg ?

1.2tsi dsg ?

Em, No.

Agreed, no DSG version.

Wow really thought it was, my mistake (again) :)

I ordered my Monte back on the 2nd April and was told it would be ready in October time. They called me 3 days ago to say that the car is ready for collection now. I'm currently in the US and am in discussions with the dealership as they are insisting it's registered within 10 days. This would mean it's an 11 plate and not a 61, as I'm not back until the 28th I'm asking/appealing to their better nature to let me have an extension and register it on the 1st September. Fingers crossed :)

Have to say though mine was the 1.6CR 105 Tdi which were supposed to be really long waits due to the engine spec. The car I test drove was the 1.2Tsi, what a fantastic little engine. If I wasn't so tight and wanted maximum fuel economy and low road tax I'd have bought one :D
