Yeti Delivery Time

Featured Replies

I ordered my Yeti (manual 1.8 petrol Elegance spec'd up with sun roof and other options) at end of May. After pestering dealer now been told build date is 1st week of October. Dealer says I will have car in mid November. I thought things happened fairly quickly after build date so anyone got any idea why another 6 weeks to take delivery in UK? I just want my Yeti!! Thanks for any replies in advance

Welcome. The dealer is hopefully being optimistic, generally the cars get her after an average of 4 weeks, some sooner, some a little longer. Expect the build date to change many times and even disappear. Nothing is firm about build dates until 2 weeks before car is due to be build. If you want one sooner, give James at Allams Skoda, a site sponsor, a call as he has access to several 1.8tsi's at the moment and he might be able to find something that would suit you....

thanks for your reply and suggestion re approaching anothjer dealer. Bit tricky to swap dealers as I have paid £1k deposit and the invoice/contract did give a delivery date range of end August to end September so dealer not in breach and even then I think there is probably a need to be reasonable as dates are never going to be exact. On the plus side, the dealer has told me that they will arrange a loan car from September to tide us over so that deals with the practical issues of having something to drive the family in (we're struggling with a 2 door corsa at present!)but its still a dissappointment - one of the reasons I chose a petrol model was because the delivery time was supposed to be quicker than a deisel. thanks

Have you got rid of the Touran then???

Hi,

it's probably your velux roof option that's holding the job up. last year they stopped UK customers ordering them, as they were over subscribed. Anyway I'm sure you will enjoy the Yeti when it does eventually turn up :)

Regards,

TP

Yep, Touran gone - it was a company car and my employer took it away (5 yrs old) and gave me cash allowance instead. The Corsa was meant to be for the kids to learn on!

RE posting from "The plumber", the panoramic sun roof is not negotiable - wifey said we are having it and that's it! I knew it had been a problem and at first the dealer wasn't sure if still available. But Skoda re-introduced the option and order was accepted. Shouldn't really blame the Mrs as the sun roof really does change the whole cabin experience and I know that if we ended up without it it would be a source of dissappointment during the whole ownership.

Orderd my Yeti 170 Elegance wilth lot of extras 3rd week in March 2010 now after a visit to the dealer this week I find out Build Date is week 2 2012 so in excess of 10 months any ideas how to get round this as dealer is very limp wristed and say complain to Skoda customer services.

Surely you ordered March 2011 !!!!! Yours would be a record!!

Just to say I ordered similarly to you (24/3/11). Eventually I got a provisional build date of mid September then it disappeared. Now it's back with wk 43 (last weekin October). What I find very worrying is we have similar orders....... am I going to change dates a few more times -YES YES YES, I fully expect this. BUT am I joining you in 2012??? I hope not!

On the optimistic side dates go back, but come forward too. Keep hoping. Don't think I'll sleep this week now!

God, you are getting close to a year. Hope you get better news soon!!

I assume you mean March 2011, perhaps its the spec you have ordered (can you give details), this is indeed quite a distant build week. By comparison I ordered a 170 Elegance, metalic, RR pack, silver rails, 3 spoke wheel and spare wheel option, ordered 19th May and initially given a build week of 45 this has now moved forward to week 42. I am due another update in the next week or so as its updated every 2 weeks, I can only hope that my build week does not disappear or fall back.

I was advised to avoid the pan roof as it appears to delay things, ok by me as it was not on my wish list.

Bizarre. I stumbled on an unallocated 1.2 tsi with pano sunroof last Sturday, ordered it and it should be here the week after next. It was sitting unwanted in Emden :)

The petrol models are pretty much available, spec dependant obviously, but if your not too particular they are there to be had. I know one dealer in Scotland has 6 petrols in stock at present with another 4 due in middle of next week.

Hells teeth!!! Pretty ridiculous! I have now got a new build date 3 weeks later than one quoted in June but not certain and could change. Dealer chased up Skoda U K via the man who visits their garage (claybank) to try and get a date don`t know if this had any effect.

Good luck, we were hoping to go off in car at half term (last full week in October round here) but looks as though we might be in the Fabia if I have already flogged the Octavia.

Get stuck into your wuss of a dealer and stir things up with Skoda UK and hope you get a better result.

Cheers

Peter

PS whats the crack re compensation brass????

Some of the delays mentioned in this thread are horrendous - you have my sympathy. I found waiting (just)5 months very frustrating though reading this forum and the posts about how happy others were once they got their cars definitely helped pass the time.

I wonder how many initial sales are being lost and orders cancelled because of build week delays. There was a thread the other day about who got theirs the quickest, but maybe it should have been the opposite or even a poll on months of waiting time.

I think skoda are having a laugh. Stop prioritising Asian market and honour promises made to UK based customers. If I don't have confirmed build date by mid September o may cancel and get a second hand tiguan.

WOW ... I ordered my 170 with sunroof at the end of May. I want it in March but when I last asked it was being built in week 52 2011. Dealer is happy to hold on to it till March. My build date may well have slipped ... I'm due to visit my dealer tomorrow with a colleague who wants to change her Fabia Greenline for a new one ... so i'll ask then.

Did you order diesel or Petrol? My dealer says petrol engine Yetis get built quicker and that was one of the reasons I opted for petrol.I hope you ordered a diesel as that would perhaps explain why my car is now quoted for a build date in 1st week October (compared to your week 52) even though I placed order at same date as you in May.

Mine will be a 170 TDi Elegance. Don't do petrol! :D

I've not done petrol since 1998 when I bought my first Octavia - going to have to be VERY careful at the petrol pumps when the yeti arrives! :S

Was told by a few dealers that the CR170 is a long lead item on all ranges in Skoda/VAG orders. I ended up getting a fully loaded (without panny sunroof) CR170 3 month old demonstrator with 3K on clock no gurantee I would get car before xmas if I had ordered on June 30th.
