1 headlight washer not working

Featured Replies

I've retro fitted some headlight washers today but the passenger side isn't spraying. They both come up, out of the bumper and drivers side sprays with some force! The passenger side however still comes out but doesn't spray. The odd thing is that if I get someone to do the spraying and pull the passenger side nozzle out about a quarter of an inch it sprays, so I guess there isn't quite enough pressure in the pass side or it's sticking. The drivers side came without the piping so I got some 7.6 mm fuel hose but the passenger side had the piping which looks slightly bigger in diameter. Would a smaller diameter pipe do the job to increase the pressure or is it cause the nozzle jet is sticking??

By the way, the pump is working just fine judging by the pressure of the driver side and there is definitely no blockages.

Thanks

I'd certainly start by changing the pipe and have another check to see if it's aligned bang on. The drivers side on mine kept flipping its cap off due to poor alignment as it was catching on the bumper cut out when I went to collect it from the dealer. So much for the PDI!. I'm sure you will have fitted the bigger bottle ~ used to be a photo how to guide on here a few years back ~ if not you'll be looking out for one pretty soon! Certainly worth having them in my experience though. Good luck getting it sorted.

yeah the bigger tank is in mate. Ive ordered some smaller diameter pipe to match the other side so see what happens when it turns up. Thanks for the reply
