Rattling driver side door...

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

seems every time i put my foot down i can hear something rattling, jumping around in the drivers side door.

Has anyone here successfully soundproofed the doors? I bought some roof flashing tape in the vain hope of sorting this out..

Anyone else done anything about this?

I also have a god awful rattle on the rear left side of the car also. Think it might be headrests. Not sure...

Seeing as this is the main driver from now on (The Convertible has been garaged. I need to ensure i make it a pleasant driving experience!

Mine did this when I had my doorcard off. Turns out that one of the rubber washers on the trip clips had gone missing inbetween removal and refitting.

New ones with thicker rubber washers are pence from your dealer.

Deadened the whole car here, except the roof. I would HIGHLY advise against that flashing tape. I tried that before using proper butyl stuff (is it butyl? Damplifier Pro)... never again. It just makes a mess. I've also put some envirolay behind each door card.

It's likely something actually rattling around loose behind the door card though to be honest, which the deadening probably won't do much about. I found a few loose bits, like trim clips that were rattling around, when I was deadening my car.

My head rests rattled too. I just removed them. I posted all my rattles in a thread on here somewhere...!

The left side rattle - I presume it is coming from the rear as you stated headrests?

Check the catch for folding down the seat - mine rattles like crazy. Fixed with a tiny bit of insulation tape betweet catch & carrier
