145bhp 300lb/ft Lupo diesel!

Featured Replies

Isn't Johnyardley on here too?

I don't think a 1.4TDI could be taken to close to 145bhp without major MAJOR works to the engine. Thats like double the standard BHP.

75bhp iirc

I seem to recall a thread where this car was pictured on here (know it wasn't anywhere else as I'm not a member of any other forums!!!)

It was a while ago though.

Hi,

Yes it was me I did own a Lupo recently. the figures were quoted by Allard's.

I notice the 1.2 tdi lupo engine in a bike producing 120 bhp 250 lb/ft so it's not impossible.

I've seen the following company stating 115bhp and that includes quite a lot of mods.. so it's definitely not possible to get 145 with just a bigger intercooler and chip.. I think 120bhp is still realistic as I've seen couple of guys with this kind of power from this little engine..

Bigger injectors, intercooler, turbo, exhaust etc.. well I guess 140bhp would be possible with enough fuel/boost but could the engine handle this kind of power.. transmission/clutch upgrade would be required at least.. I know it's built from the 1.9 powerplant with one cylinder less but I guess some of the parts are made weaker, maybe there is techie here who can help us with this :)

btw, I have powerbox and better intake and I must say the car pulls pretty well now even at motorway speeds mainly thanks to short gear ratios, top speed limiting however.. running est. 100bhp now.. not a rocket but more like a smart little powerplant :)
