Wax...again....

Featured Replies

I have to agree.

I tried it once and just ended up with messy hands! Quality of the application onto the paint didn't seem anywhere near as good, or as consistent as applying via applicator pad either.

Yes - figured as much guys. Seemed a gimmick, although i imagined the additional heat from skin contact may help.

But never tried it - hence why i asked...

No matter - i agree..... much easier and more uniform technique via standard wax applicator.

The heat thing's a load of rubbish as far as I'm concerned. And another sales gimmick. Just seems to me that the outcome will be that you use more wax via the 'hand' method. Equalling more sales.

That might be harsh, but IMO you'll build up more than enough required through the applicator pad.

Yep - agreed; now all i need is a break in the weather.

Heading to Scotland this weekend and what the R36 waxed before then.

You will struggle to find a bit of the day which is dry Steve , I have not cleaned mine since Sunday, or being on the bike :o due to the torrential rain :rain:

:'(

I sympathise. I want to fit in a full detail on mine before the month is out. Was hoping for an Indian summer, following the summer we've had. No such luck thus far :dull:

Why not use them both

Half a car each

...You will then be able to compare them Steve

Done this in the spring on the girls car but with autosmarts new Wax and autoglym's HD.

It looks as if ag HD side is holding up better, water is still beading well as the autosmart WAX side is looking thin, less beading.

Got the R36 washed and waxed tonight to clean off the motorway debris from Scotland trip last weekend.

Tried the Victoria Wax. Weird stuff - extra soft and a little oily.... but sooooo easy on AND off.

Amazing finish with so little effort. Sorry to say it was a little dark when i finished;

so no pics..... but very happy with the result. Thanks for the recommendation Wardy

Absolutely horsing it down with rain here at 6pm...... and the beading is epic!!!! Sorted!

Durability will be the next topic then Steve

You can try a sealer topper like Zaino Z8..This should improve the shine and aid durability too

Yes - very true Chris. Not looking for durability on this stuff - really just the deep finish for summer.

Will be back to AG-HD or Collonite for winter....

Glad you like the result

As for durability, I think you'll be impressed on that count too. Especially considering the quality of the finish and the carnuba content.

Cheers Wardy - very happy with it indeed. I think i maybe laid it on too thick initially.

But no matter its still so easy off and i really raced round the car in no time.

Hoping for another break in the weather this weekend for a 2nd coat!

Yep, understandable. Less is more :)

Will be interesting to see what you think to durability. The first time I used it, I had the same objective to you... and was surprised

Cheers,

Steve

Eh up chaps. Just to update you, i tried the R222s tonight.

Wow..... went on so easy with the supplied sponge applicator.

Spreads so easy with the damp applicator and looks like it will

do plenty of runs round the big R36!!! Soooooooo easy off too.

Beats the rest i have trialled thus far.

Only thing in its favour was the cooler weather..... but overall very happy.

Again - will check durability in coming weeks.... but very pleased!!!
