Hi all.

A friends 1.9tdi Fabia VRS (2003) windscreen washers have stopped working. I have checked the fuse, which is ok and it does have a live feed to it. I have also replaced the washer pump (while i was down there replacing antiroll bar bushes) and still no joy but I couldnt get a live feed at the pump?

Im no auto electrician but does anyone have any other ideas? Im now thinking it may be a relay but does this model have one for the washers? I know it has a wiper relay but does this work the washers aswell? If so does anyone know which number it is and its location?

Also, the front and rear wipers are working fine.

Any help with this one would be very well appreciated as im stumped to be honest.

Have you tried changing the fuse, Or just done a visual check?

Also, apart from the fuse, have you tried pulling the pipe apart and seeing if it squirts like that? VAG's "fan jet" washers are just plain not as good as correctly aimed jets and one of the issues is a tendancy to block for no adequately explored reason.

I have visually checked it and when re-fitted I put a test lamp on it which shown a live across it. In fact I checked every fuse in the box as there seems to be a little confusion over which fuse is which. I thought it was 21 by the way and when removed the wipers stopped working. Any ideas?

I connected the new pump but did not fit the water pipes just to see if it worked. Nothing. So I got a test lamp (screwdiver with earth cable type) and got someone to press the washer stalk on and off while I checked for a live feed. Again, no live feed?

Any suggestions?
