Door sill covers?

Featured Replies

Anyone fitted door sill covers, what is the difference between the £22 set and the £70 set? Pictures on Allams parts web page both look the same, and the Skoda parts web page only shows a picture of the £70 set.

I've copied below a snip from a thread in which I replied with a part number, having fitted them just after getting the car.

Can't see, myself, why you'd spend the extra on shiny ones, given they're, perhaps, more likely to show marks?....and the black ones look, in my view, like they're part of the original spec. matching the black plastic sills.

Door Sill trim Black.

I had the shiny one fitted as I didn't know there was a choice when I took delivery. 11,000 miles later and no sign of any problems.

I would have gone for the footprint ones TP & Merlinman have had I known about them at the time.

I fitted all four black ones last week, doddle to fit and judging by the dust scuffs across them, they stop the paint being damaged by those blasted kids and muddy feet etc.

Well worth the small outlay, but I wouldn't spend the money on the shiney ones.

Do you have a picture of the black ones?

I think that this should give a good idea as to the different appearance - taken from the equivalent page for the Roomster.

+1 - they're good value and very effective (and match well to the other black bits!).

Details in my earlier post relate to purchase from local Skoda dealer.

Black ones do the job ! Silver ones are more about bling

Yes. No point having bling anywhere with those wheels!

Those wheels & tyres were perfect for the conditions.................and more comfortable than the 17" ones on the car at the moment.

I have just fitted the £22 all black set.

Very easy to fit despite not having the 'template' described in the instructions,

They look really neat and are well worth the money.

I decided i am going to get the black ones, hopefully for my birthday, which is soon. Was going to ask if it was worth getting the templates, but if they fit easy enough I won't bother. Wonder if I could add rubber mats to my birthday wish list also. :giggle:

+ another - don't waste money on templates, the fitting is straightforward and obvious (and worthwhile both for practicality and looks).
