my left xanon is flickering and sometime does'nt come on, on the first go! anybody else had this problem?

Not yet. Must be a warranty job though, it is such a young car :(

i bought it brand new! im a bit cross because the back brakes need sorting plus it did have a dv problem(which a fairy sorted) but a

Had mine nearly 4 months & had no problems with my xenons.

Get the dealer to check it out - will be covered under warranty.

Mine's 9 months old and 12,000 miles, and the only problems I've had were a dash squeak and a steamed up indicator. Xenons have been fine, and seem to get better with age !! Both problems were sorted quickly by the dealer.

i think i will go down it a twenty min drive but it has to be done! im getting a service at 5k oil and filter change before the remap, so i expect i will drop it off next week!

it did have a dv problem(which a fairy sorted)

Just noticed this! Was it the Bailey fairy?

oh no nothing as simple as that i just came out one morning drove the car and bingo! i am having a new one fitted when i go to jabbasport but i dont want the silent one jabba offers i want a woooosh but one that is noticable and doesnt defen you! any ideas?

By all accounts the Baily DV30 is about twice as loud as standard.

That's what I want too but SWMBO won't let me (I know, I know!)

Sounds like you have moisture in there somehow.

Xenons have been faultless for me over 2 years and 53k. This I know does not help, but on such a new vehicle I'd be asking for it to be fixed.

Not wishing to alarm you, but it might be worth inspecting to see if any cracks or alignment issues arise in that area. She might of had a slight knock in transit, thus allowing the mositure to get in etc.

thats what i thought but i have been told its silent? just say the old one is broken thats why its making that noise and its going to cost

concider me alarmed!

That will definatly be done on warranty.

I have just managed to get my tail pipe replaced on warranty just because the crome had faded, "Due to never cleaning it"

Jobs a good un...

Cheers

I'm using a hyper-boost D.V. Makes a very nice noise :D

All D.V's get a fair bit louder when you also fit a C.A.I unit.

whats a C.A.I ?

Cold Air Indiction - I.E Green dynatwist (that I'm running) or Carboinio (that a fair few others are using)

More air in - More Fuel - Bigger bang - More power (well thats the theory anyway!)

You basically take out the standard air box and filter, throw it in the bin and attach the induction kit of your choice (hundreds of threads on here about the different ones)

Prices start at about

a i c but to be honest i cant afford more fuel concidering i have done 5k in 6 weeks lol but i recon that my car would sound like the muts nuts with one!

If fuel costs are an issue then you should definately consider getting jabbas boost controller fitted when you have it re-mapped.

Fuel consumption WILL be increased when its re-mapped (except on mong motorway cruises)

  • Author

i thought it will only increase if u boot it! is the only advantage of a boost controler to save fuel cus it is quite expensive! on top of a remap etc tec

Trust me, once its re-mapped it'll be too much fun NOT to boot it :D

Boost control is a good antidote to a heavy right foot. Also alows you to back off the turbo a bit on those really hot summer days when heat soak is a problem.

Each to his own and the expense is always an issue but I dont regret having it fitted.

i recon that it might be good idea then! depends if i can afford it, this mrs is talking about moving out! :(

Yaaay! Got a boonus from work so SWMBO grudgingly agreed to me fitting a new dump valve :-)

DV30%20Fitted.JPG

It's a bit louder, and it makes a totally different noise - more of a "chaah" than a "tishh".

I like it!

It took about 15 minutes to fit, 12 of which involved removing the OEM single use clips.

Have to love those one use clips....especially when they are reused 2 min later.

I uncliped the MAF hose one once...then had this erm how am I going to gether it again....g-clamp to the rescue as it was the only thing I owned with a large enough jaw.
