Rubbing when turning... sometimes

Featured Replies

Hi guys, having a small problem with my fabia VRS. Sometimes when i turn tight-ish left (and less so right) i get a rotational rubbing... it seems to happen most if i have my foot on the brake at the time.... anyway, not too worried for now.

But a few days ago I had to put on the temporary tyre while I had a puncture repaired on the main tyre and the the garage stuck the main tyre back on when it was fixed. Could it be anything to do with that? Going back to the garage isn't an option as its the other side of town and a nightmare to get to in work hours. I wondered if it could be some sort of tracking? Because it is only happening sometimes I was wondering if grit has got somewhere when changing wheels?

Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Just been out again, seems to be both left and right and the brakes make no real difference. It seems to happen most if I'm doing 20-25mph and going round a roundabout though can sometimes get it on rightish corners too. It's not loud but can hear it with the window closed... Not sure if it could be heard by pedestrians and because it doesn't happen all the time it's hard to test... My main concern is the wheel has been put on incorrectly by the garage when they fixed my puncture... But that must be quite a simple task!

It's hard to describe the sound but a sorta high pitched rubbing is the best I can do!

Cheers

Right, can now get back to the garage tomorrow but i guess i dont want to look like a fool as i am unsure what i am trying to say to them and because the sound is intermittent at best i bet it will be silent when they test it... i guess i will be happy if they just double check the thing is safe and the wheel they refitted isnt about to fall off!
