Creaking

Featured Replies

I get a creaking noise when I go over bumps etc at low speeds, anyone got any ideas before I start replacing random parts I jar replace consoles with powerflex ones a few months back, so hoping its not these a they cost a pretty penny, it's getting rather annoying I just want to sort or out

Thanks

top mounts are common for creaking over bumps

I thought so just wanted to get some advice from other people before I start replacing the lot of them, thanks

The powerflexes _could_ be creaking - heard of people eventually replacing their console bushes with the cupra bushes instead due to creaking and ride harshness...

I'm about to do my drop links and arb bushes, and the rear axle as i've got a couple of creaks here and there. Gonna just progressively replace each bit and go from there... But in order of easiness to fit:

Drop Links

Rear Axle bushes

track rod ends

front/rear wishbone bushes

Then past the standard moving parts bushes...:

ball joints

suspension bearing mounts

engine mounts

Pretty much all of these can creak/clunk - considering my car is 11 years on and not had any replaced then it doesn't surprise me that they need doing now! Rubber doesn't last forever hahaha!

Thanks think it's a case of just replace the lot as it's only bushes it's not going to cost to much to replace them may look into the cupra bushes if its them may just drop it to ali to sort out can't be bothered with the hassles of doing it anymore lol, thanks for the advice
