Tyre load index for VRS

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 VRS hatch with 17" alloys

I need to replace my rear tyres and have (almost) decided on some Uniroyal Rainsport 2

The rainsports have a load indes of 91 and my front tyres are 94

Will it be OK to mix these different load index figures together?

Thanks

I would have thought so. The xl tyre in the 18 inch wheel is 92 iirc.

As long as it meets the minimum load index for the car should be okay.

we are currently running 2 different tyres. Not ideal when fronts wear this will be resolved.

I've got Rainsports and they are great, much prefer them to my previous conti sport contact 3s. However, they do come with a very wide range of load/speed ratings within the same size (see the sizes tab on their website here: Uniroyal), so shop around and you should be able to get the better load/speed rating (and XL come to that). Cheapest I found (for the suitable vRS load/speed/xl rating for 18" tyres) was Kwik Fit when you book them online first, so check there for what they have in 17" sizes
