I've got an "old" Octavia (2001 Y plate). Plan A was to change it when it was three years old (last May). Plan B was to change it this coming May. I'm not sure what Plan C will be. Trouble is, I've grown rather attached to it. Maybe next year... :)

My new furby has about 25k miles. And as I was bored, I washed it today for the first time since picking it up

not due to change till the end of the year......

.....time will tell if the new Vrs estate will be out by them ........or if they manage to get their act together about towbar electrics  if not-my first skoda will be my last

I've done that aswell

Nice one

37mpg on the M25? Surely you could have got more?

When I first got my 1.6 the other year, one of our first trips was down to Kent for the weekend, and as we drove down on the Friday night I had my eye on the mpg section of the on board computer, which up until then I had never had the luxury of. Well, you can guess that we went around the M25 and along the A2/M2 at about 45-50mph all the way!!!! The family were doing their nuts! But at least I got 53mpg out of a non-diesel, so I was well impressed. Just shows you, a light right foot means fewer visits to the fuel store.

Well I'll be keeping my "old" Octavia for another three years at least. :-)

Me too!! - as it's a company car and I've only had it 7 weeks!

It will be replaced by a 4x4 RS Estate though assuming one is available when this lease runs out.

i dont actually have an octy yet, but what do u mean by old, i am gonna buy a 51 reg octy Vrs

'Old' refers to a mk1 Octavia because the mk2 is out now.

But there is only one Octavia vRS and it's still in production so there are quite a few 'old ones' that haven't left the producyion line yet!!

Although that's not actually the Mk1 Octavia, as that looks a little something like this:

Slightly OT, but I did a similar thing in my Furby at the weekend. I drove down to Rochester & had a bit of fun on the country lanes between there & Aylesford instead :D

Keeping my lean mean rocket machine for a while. No real serious urges to change even with it coming up to its 4th birthday in June.Just a bit envious of the new octavia's lovely interior.

Well i've had my 2001 Y reg for nearly 2.5 years and apart from the 40,000mile service bill has been the best car i've ever had and will probably be keeping it for at least another 18months even though i should really be buying a diesel for the miles i'm doing now.

It's That time when I should change, but I ain't gonna and you can't make me! Why should I, she has never failed me, she stood by me when times were hard. Into my 4th year of ownership, 50,000 miles. I respect my Vrs, as my Vrs respects me, I ain't gonna chop her in just because a newer prettier model appears on the horizon. Some people can't commit to a proper serious relationship, your always after something better, something newer! Well I hope it all backfires on you. Me and my baby are one, just try and split us up, Go on, go on try it if you think your hard enough!

keeping my Y reg for a while yet, bought it 6 months ago with 15,800 miles on it :D

only got just over 20,000 on now due to work!!

Keeping the Octy for another two or so years.

Furby will probably go sooner to be replaced by an Octy2 estate.

Hi Andy

It's nice to know there are still a few octy owners out there I was begining to think I was an endangered species :D

I think there will be a sudden splurge of new octavia members over the coming months with the release of the Octavia III

Mine goes in August after the last Cannonball, If anyone wants the fastest 4x4 in the UK let me know as I dont want to break it, Ive spent thousands getting it just right & dont want it to go as a pile of bits

He wont beat the Grim reaper, his turn will come !! Next car is likely to be a cheapie until I decide what i want next for fun, Favourites in the fun stakes at the moment are a Harley or a Paramotor

I'm currently looking at upgrading to a bigger car (Octy mk1 maybe ;)) so I may be joining your ranks soon! :D Just gotta find the right one now! :D
