I did it years ago, makes no difference as far as I have found. Most of the insurance sites don't even ask about any further "qualifications". I did it for peace of mind though as I had a serious accident when younger. :)

Ah right, I had a smash up in November 2008 and I'm still paying for it! I was hoping it would counter that but I'll save myself the cash and not bother, cheers.

IAM for bikes makes a difference on insurance, but I've never heard anybody say it was a worthy investment on car licenses.

Used to have IAM but insurance company didn’t discount, but the course was a good investment.

My instructor was retired traffic cop, I did do mine at 18 though.

Aye it'll be a good course and I think everyone should do it as it improves your observations driving skill 10 fold all just be following the system of car control. I might get the licence in Jan when my insurance is up.
