I've been getting over £700 on the comparison sites. I was paying £300 on my mx5. I'll probably do 4k miles a year. Thanks for the replies.

I'm only paying £340 with lowered excess through Admiral but your location has a MASSIVE effect on price. If I moved half a mile down the road to a less desirable location, my premium would double.

I should add that's on a vRS

I am paying £750 fully comp (vrs), 22, 4 years no claims with admiral

mine was £384 with kwikfit 3 months ago when i changed my clio172 for the vrs

swapped it as the vrs was cheaper

got the renewal from kwickfit £672 lol ( nealy double in 3 months )

cheeky buggers still took it aswell even though i canceled it over the phone and by letter

then tried to charge a fee when i rang them up and told them i didnt want it havent even got the money back yet still waiting

No way! You must live in a nice area! That's seriously cheap on a vrs !!

The trouble with the Octavia is it's so common (=lots of claims), and used by Taxi drivers and certain ethnic minorities a lot, that it has become pretty expensive to insure, at all model levels.

just gone up every where

then they say its gone up due to people putting false claims

whiplash when theres nothing wrong with them got to to pay for the insurance next year

my clio 172 sport went up to nealy £950

thats why i had to change it to the vrs £500 cheaper

dont know obot the rest of you but mines always gone up

never come down since i passed test 20 years ago

440.00 here on VRS, 39yrs age and 10yrs NCB and low excess....

23, 3years no claims 720 with breakdown cover included. On elephant.

I have two woman drivers on my quote and do "4k" a year with a £750 excess.

34yrs young, I was paying £430 fully comp With AXA for me and our lass on the vrs. I had 7 yrs no claims n she's got 3 points :giggle:

This Volvo 340 I'm running now is £16 a year more than the vrs??!

Managed to get it down with my mrs on it as joint!!

All club insurers are worth a try..

I was paying 600 full comp all mods declared (lots of them) with Noel dazely.

I was paying £185 fully comp. on mine. Means Jack **** today! Obviously there is a general rapid rise in insurance costs, but as I said, there is becoming a bit of an issue with the Octavias, for various reasons.

Brentacre

£480 fully comp with all mods including a remap declared.

35yrs old with full ncb.

Has anyone got a IAM advanced driving licence and if so has it made any difference to your insurance? I'm thinking about getting one but want to know if it's worth the £32

I did it years ago, makes no difference as far as I have found. Most of the insurance sites don't even ask about any further "qualifications". I did it for peace of mind though as I had a serious accident when younger. :)
