I have a 2002 Fabia . the wipers sometimes work and sometimes dont. All 3 speeds react the same. Fuses seem ok. I can put the wipers on and they work , put them off without doing anything else and put them on again they dont work.

I was thinking of replacing the wiper stock on the steering column but cant seem to release the 2 screws on the rear of the steering wheel. I assumed they were torx but cant get a torx to locate properly. Can anyone tell me which type of fixing is used or any other ideas as to the wiper failure.

it could be a Relay if they have one, the motor or switch could be faulty personally i have no idea jut guessing but you never now and i think the torx are mainly 28 i believe

With bonnet open, look down behind the catch that the bonnet locks into. You will see a plug with two thin wires coming out of it. That's the switch for alarm,it also prevents the wipers from working with the bonnet open, as a safety feature for the wiper arms.
