Missing the old vRS

Featured Replies

Well saw some pictures of my old car tonight and must say I am missing it!

Must admit they are so raw and quick in standard form, I miss the way it pulled compared to a Diesel now!

That is all :)

If you'd have remapped it so would have kept it ;)

Raw? That's not a word I'd use to describe a standard vRS.

By the way Luke there is a thread on here about the injectors going on 170 diesels, and because it is a common problem they are replacing for free. I know you got yours done on the warranty, but the guy on here(actuallyfrom the Audi forum wants everybodt with a car that it has happened to to petition vosa to get it sorted as it is a safety issue, ie you have no power steering and servo brakes etc when it happens

edit, found it http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/197422-vag-170-ps-diesel-injector-failures-vosa-action/page__st__340__p__2516922__hl__170+injectors+__fromsearch__1#entry2516922

They are raw and boyracer ish Trust me. I have recently traded my MK1 in for a MK2 and I have to say that yes the MK2 is quicker but it doesn't make me smile as much as the MK1 did.

I suppose it depends what you're comparing it to. ;)

I'm sorry but they're really not!

Compared to my last car mine feels like the road's been paved with matresses, and all the controls feel like they're attached by rubber bands. And overall I think that's a good thing.

I've gone from driving my Corrado daily to my Octy and the difference is rather large. The Corrado felt bloomin' raw. Haha.

Its a matter of opinion really, if someones gone from something boring and new to one they might. My Octy is fairly mental at spinning the front wheels and the turbo with the remap does pull hard. So its certainly not docile, but not really raw, its got airbags!

My volvo's raw!

My vrs was far from it!

Ye I miss the creature comforts of a stereo and power steering but that's it!

The volvo's more fun and much more of a drivers car that's for sure.

Do I miss the vrs...........nope!

I'm looking after her Luke.

Got to say it really is all the car i could ever see me needing. It's got all the power, space and looks i could ask for from a daily driver.

I agree with both sides of the argument on the performance, when you really want to get a wriggle on the shove you can get from it is immense, however when feeling like a bit less of a hooligan, its just a great, relaxed and refined car to drive normally. In these tough times, its also not too bad on the fuel, which was my only real moment of doubt when considering getting one, but 36mpg avg is keeping me smiling so far.

Cheers

Never doubted you wouldn't :)

36mpg is a good average though, think mine was just over 30 but that's because my route to work is just stop/start.
