What about ebay, or is it a bit of a risk, obvs not used components.

Ebuyer + quidco ;)

what is that quidco all about?

overclockers.co.uk , cclonline.com

ive stopped using scan because of their lack of aftersales support, overclockers uk is far superior anyhow

Everyone will have different experiences of support. Personally I haven't used Overclockers for years since I ended up driving to Stoke to get in a slanging match with their counter monkey (who INSISTED that they tested every single part they sold, even though volume and the fact that my CPU was still factory sealed makes that impossible). The one thing in their favour is that they do get the latest stuff in first, generally, however you will be had over a barrel for it as they're not exactly the cheapest out there.

I tend to use Scan, as the last couple of full systems I've built have been done on buy-now-pay-later and they're quite good for that. For single components and smaller orders, I also use Ebuyer or Aria if stuff is on offer.

Quidco is a cashback website. If you're shopping from a company who deal with Quidco, then you go to Quidco first and login, follow their special affiliate link and then you get a certain percentage of your total price back into your Quidco account. It's pretty good but the amounts involved aren't usually enough to swing a deal either way, IMO. I'd find the cheapest supplier or one that I was happy dealing with, if they do Quidco then fine but if not it's no big deal.

Used www.aria.co.uk for years, only had one problem with a CRT monitor years ago that they wouldn't replace.
