Just ordered a vRS TDI CR... Any issues?

I would rather have screws holding my plates on, rather than that crap called sticky pads any day.

Not if the screws ruin my paint - I've had the plate on my Beemer on pads for the last several thousand miles, including a 2500 mile trip to the Stelvio & 15 laps of the Nurburgring - pads are fine... And besides, a new plate is about £10, a bumper respray is ? plus the time & effort to sort.

I had exactly the same problem and same colouremoticon-0124-worried.gif

My dealer was excellent and the front bumper was totally resprayed and they did a very good jobemoticon-0144-nod.gif

I was quite prepared just to touch it up

All free under warranty

+1 for paint issues.....only on front bumper though. paint seems very soft and have slight peeling in the numberplate recess, don't know whether to just touch up or actually take to the dealer in the hope i will get the whole front bumper resprayed.

hmmm interesting. I may take it in, but i don't think any of them have a bodyshop to inspect it. It wouldn't be going to a dealer to be sprayed anyway as there is a brilliant VAG approved bodyshop by me.

Sorry, it was done by an external VAG approved bodyshop but had to go through the dealer for warranty approval etc

Took mine in this afternoon and inspector agreed the paint on the bumper is awful and very soft. He has taken pics and will file a report

Had mine since Sept 2010 11.6k no problems, absolutely brilliant car, well worth waiting for. :)emoticon-0148-yes.gif
