Speed, rpm, fuel indicators only occasionally works

Featured Replies

Hey everyone

On my old Octavia stationcar from 2000 i have an issue with the indicators for speed, rpm and fuel only works occasionally (i.e. unpredictable)

Does anyone here have good ideas as to what the reason could be - or what I could try out, except from going through all wires, connections,...

Thanks in advance

Dry joint on a voltage regulator maybe, have a search it has been covered a few times before. You can try pulling out a certain fuse (can never remember which) and see if that helps. That will cause the trip comp to forget values each time the ignition is turned off though.

Yep dry joints on dash voltage regulators. Pull fuse 15, & your gauges should start to work again, but your trip will reset to zero every time you restart.

thanks for the feedback guys - I'll do a search on what to do to resolve a dry joint on the voltage regulators... pulling fuse 15 I can work out ... ;-)
