Very quick clutch question...

Featured Replies

So the question is... Is the clutch in my 1.9tdi pd100 the same as the clutch in the pd130 Vrs...

I'm considering a remap and was wondering if the clutches are the same and to ensure the clutch will take the torque ratings. Obviously I don't want to get it done and then rip my clutch apart!

Thank you all :)

Nope completely different

You can get an uprated clutch for the 5 speed tdi from awesome gti i believe

Thanks for the very speedy reply. That being the case does anyone know what the clutch in the pd100 is rated to in terms of torque. Is 240 lbs/ft torque going to be a safe level or will it destroy the clutch? There cars just ticked onto 30k today.

Speak to shark performance on here they'll keep you right

My knowledge of the non vrs isn't the best

Mines approaching 147k miles and been remapped for 7k miles, still on the original clutch

Edit: I believe the VR6 clutch will fit the PD100, and maybe the G60 flywheel will as well

I've had my PD100 for 2 years, i bought it with 72,000 miles on it.

Not long after I bought it, i had it remapped.

I've done 108,000 miles now, and the clutch is still (touch wood) 100% fine. Not sure how old the clutch is, but 36,000 miles in my time should show you that it's got to be strong enough, and soemthing you need not worry about.

Does the VR6 develop that much torque?

OEM Sachs VR6 clutch's are rated to 300lb/ft
