Shark visit - impressive results!

I got my revised file through from Ben last week (cheers Ben!) but wasn't able to upload it onto the car until I got to work this morning. I then drove home from work this evening with this revised map and I can't say I noticed any difference. Actually, thats not strictly correct, I thought the acceleration was worse than it had been when I drove to work this morning.

I am going to double-check it is actually the "performance map update" file that I have transferred to my STS then onto the car but I am 99.99% positive it is.

Does it take a few days for the full effect to become apparent? I know that a subtle 4bhp (going my rob's figures above) wouldn't be noticeable but I thought the difference in the torque figures would be immediately apparent, not quite as night-and-day as the difference between standard and the performance map but still a clear step up from performance map to performance update map.

Any views?

IIRC the ECU has to "learn" so you may not feel the full effect immediately, might take a few trips.

Guys this thread is about Rob's problems and experience NOT the revised map that was offered to those who wanted to try it. Please direct any customer support or technical issues to us NOT this thread. Thanks

A few weeks ago I had my revo stage 1 switched to performance mode 2 from 1 and the change was instant. Felt noticeably quicker.

I have had a couple of fault codes, can't remember the codes but something to doing with torque limit exceeded and fuel rail pressure. Revo have seen the second one before and there's a later version of the map but the first one isn't familiar to them. My car is going into to Awesome for a 10k service soon so they can check it out then.

I emailed Ben late last night, and he was quick to come back to me (cheers Ben, never stop working eh!).

I went out for a run last night with the standard map, checked for fault codes - none. Took the STS out with me so swapped the map back to the original performance version and drove "in a spirited manner" back to the house and checked again - no fault codes. Drove into work this morning and again no fault codes.

So I think I will leave the car with the original performance map. Thanks for sending me the updated map Ben but it's not for me, and thanks for the email back-and-forth late last night too.

Shark tweaked my map and the fault code is gone. Might be worth letting Ben tweak your map. The actual fault code is nothing to worry about as I have driven my car 21,000 miles with the code with no issues. Its probably not making the required boost for a milli-second and then making it. That is enough to trigger a code. The only time to worry is when it brings a cel on.

also more than happy with my stage 1 Shark map, hoping to be stage 2 before Christmas! actually surprised it came in at 145hp, mines feels like more! will find out soon, Im attending a RR day on the 22nd of October!

Please tell me did you get this done in N Ireland, and if so, where? I'm here too.

Shark STS system mate!
