So I bought the little gasket thing, opened the bonnet expecting somthing else, couldn't even get the bolts off so here I am....

Firstly is this the correct one you change?

Secondly, how on earth do you get the bolts out? I have tried plus gas and a lot of brute force but they wont budge!!

That is the correct place to put the gasket, I also believe you can put it in another place but it isn't as affective. See more information on this website.

Also can I ask where you got the part from as I also need to do the fix but can't locate the part anyway?

Thanks

I just got it form the Skoda dealer - it was £2

You dont need to dril it though!! leave it at 9mm (ie what it comes as) is what I took from reading around.

It will be interesting to see if you get the bolts out, I have tried again and can't :S

You might need to drill it out a bit, depending on if your engine management light comes on or not afterwards. Sometimes this happens on a long cruise at light throttle. I'd certainly try it at the default size of 9mm first though, as people's experience varies.

Try it at 9mm first and if the EML comes on take it out and drill it to 11mm, some have had the EML on with it being 9mm and some haven't.

I can't remember what size allen bolts they are but use an L shaped allen key and a ring spanner on it to give more leverage.
