I want a show cage.

Featured Replies

I strip out/ re-furnish my car regularly, is there a show cage kit that is easily removable? Or even a proper cage just for the rear that is a quick fit/removal?

Ross.

A cage even removable may make you difficult to insure at your age.

It just screams ragging it about on the limit to the insurer.

Not really I had a full 12 point cage in my Mini and I managed to get insured on that with every single mod added for about the same price as some of my mates on a standard one.

Having said that, show cage's are more dangerous and are really no benefit in a crash and may cause more damage to the people in the car than it would of without it.

My insurance covers interior mod's. If anything happens to my car that the insurers should know about I'd hope it catches fire cause I don't want a Bodged up repaired car. I'd want a replacement in the form of a cheque.

Not bothered how dangerous it is, I just want one.

Will it look right on a 5dr?

Show cage = gay

Well done.

Your best bet is to get in touch with some companies that specialise in cages, as I can't see there being an off the shelf one made for a fabia.

only thing i can think of is maybe ones designed for ibiza's or polo's?

just to warn you, if you have a show cage fitted be careful on trackdays as some can turn you down if the cage is not welded in as it becomes more of a hazard in a crash than anything else.

i beleive this is only on some of the bigger circuits but for example if you wanted to enter these bigger sorts of events then you may come across this issue.

i suppose with this in mind it would be a good idea for you to get a removeable one so you could take it out for the times when you need to! :)

I think a show cage would look out of place but that's my opinion. I doubt there's any one that currently makes them for fabias. :S

A roll cage manufacturer (I used Protection and Performance for my Land Rover, but they are "Up North") will be able to make what you want.

Personaly I can't see the point in a 5 door diesel hatchback, but if that's what you want it is possible. Expect to pay a fair few £££ for it though as a custom fabrication job.

Also, stripping out to save weight, then putting a show cage in that has no real safety gains...

You'll probably be adding a lot of weight back in just "for show"

Personally i wouldn't bother, and with your rear tints, it's not going to be getting showed off much !

All IMO of course ;)

Real cages for Fabia VRS.....

Most chrome show rear hoops are special one off fabrications (unless it is a very common chav car.... :giggle: ).....

Why not fit a prper one and the full rally bodykit and then vynil wrap the car like the rally car????

Look at these posts!!

I would bet 'interior mods' wouldnt include your roll cage idea. Seriously check with them, and I bet they get twitchy and maybe utter the words that they wouldnt cover it.

Insurance firms are going though repairs with a fine tooth comb lately, with many refusing to payout for undeclared mods and voiding your insurance.

I would make one myself from old toilet roll tubes then spray with the espezial chrome spray paint for the authentic chrome-moly look. You'd be doing your bit for the environment too to carbon offset ze smoke you make outside ze kebab shop on Friday nights. It would look smart.
