Inspired by prolfe's inserts and somebody else who did their interior pillars in red.....i decided to kill two birds with one stone when I removed my rear door cards to seal the common leaks...

Its better than that weird cityscape thing it had before...stained by the previous owner.

black would have been much better

Agreed black would be more slick....but the inside needed brightening up imho...

With an orange exterior? Wowzers.

But they don't make felt in cayenne orange :(

Sorry mate, I appreciate the time you have put into this. But that looks shocking :'(

If its what you like then thats what matter most.

I will just say the first warm day we have they will sag. (if we get a warm day lol)

Oh crap....is that because I used felt? Copious amounts of aerosol adhesive should prevent sagging, shouldnt it?

If it sag take it off and re do it with some heat resistant spray glue. I did the roof in black in my previous car and as far as I know after 2 years still no problems

:/

Front one any better with the black + red combo? Or more flak coming my way?

Two colours could be good..

That is the stuff

A bit OTT maybe as I think I'd have chickened out and just done the insert sections, leaving the door bins and speaker grilles. It certainly "lifts" the colour scheme!! B) (shades for protection  )

What material did you use? You might want to consider spraying it with a scotchguard type stuff containing a mould killer, just in case...

The door bins are prolfe's inserts which he did so well....it all evolved from there really.

I used felt...soft to touch. Will definitely look into the scotchguard stuff...thought I might wait a little for any sagging to take effect first...

i much prefere the front door with the split of colours in. I can understand you wanting to brighten the interior too.

Well done for having the balls to give something different a try.

There wasn't a natural curve in the rear door cards for me to follow and panel in different colours. The front do look better though. Might have to try and add a curved layer of black on the bottom of the back panels and see how they look.

What glue and materials do the professionals use when doing the doorcards? Same leather as the upholstery?

I've been having to do the odd touch up with spray on adhesive every other week or so. It's not so much that it sagged on the few warmer days last month...more peeling on the edges. What's stronger than standard homebase spray adhesive?

Pretty much anything used in the industry. Have a look at local upholstery or furniture firms. They could probably sell you something for around £20 that would stick like .... to a blanket.
