hello just got back from the RR day at Shark Performance... went on the rollers and the power was down, and the mpg as been low for a while. so we took the maf sensor of another fabia vrs to try it. took for a little drive and i got 10mpg more.

where is the best place to got one from i want a bosch one no cheap ****e.

cheers Ant

tps?

Matt

Cheers Luke on euro car parts bloody 80 quid for a Bosch one.

P.s I am having them brakes :)

The dyno is conservative is it not so I wouldn't worry about the pOwer

As above, I wouldnt worry too much tbh, same as they can over read, they can under read too! What did it run? what mods?

151.7 bhp should have been more like 165-170 bhp ish.

Pd160 intake, green cotton filter and egr delete.

PD160 = No difference to performance

Filter = No difference to performance

EGR Delete = No difference to performance

So what's the problem?

i assume you must also have a remap too if your looking at 170hp. if so then you would have thought that 150hp is slightly low

Seems tuners are going the opposite way now with conservative dynos. Why can't we just have normal accurate ones?? Lol

£80 is about the going rate for a MAF to be fair.

Yeah sorry a stage one shark performance remap too

What was their excuse for it not making the power, their map their rollers. Now everyone with a shark map should be skeptical about it being the power it should be. I think this all is part of this game sayin that the stock injectors can't make 200+ so the run the dyno conservative

I made 228bhp on their rollers today......

I stand corrected. Is this magical figure 200 or 230 on stock injectors I forget?

My original comment was 208hp in theory (which makes assumption that stock engine makes 130hp), and I offered a free dyno run for anyone making 240hp with standard fueling system.

Ant's car seems to have a broken maf, hence the low power figure.

What about friggerpants he's still running standard injectors

But many PD engines dyno slightly above what they're supposed to (which I assume is why Mikko included his assumption). So if, in fact, the figures that Mikko is using from the stock map to calculate what fuelling is required for 130bhp actually produce slightly more then there's a chance that his re-calculated, higher figures could be conservative by the same percentage as well. However, that's not proven which I'm guessing is why he's made the assumption that the stock figures make bang on the 130bhp that VAG say.

And yeah, Ant's car almost definitely has a broken MAF, we swapped it for mine which is in good health (as we all know after the last thread, it dynoed 200bhp at Shark recently which is almost exactly what Mikko expected it to make for the map he gave it) and he said it improved his economy even on a short run. It was raining hard at Shark yesterday when we swapped it so he doesn't know whether his missing power is back, but I think the MAF is an accurate diagnosis.

The cars injectors are on the limit. We physically cant inject any more fuel in!

227bhp sounds right for a limit.

So your telling everyone who has a shark remap to be skeptical because Ant's car made a lower figure even though the maf was the suspected problem in the first place? Shark have one of the best reputations on the forum and im pretty sure if everyone with a shark map was running under what the company claim, then i think they may have a different repuation lol Ben always claims lower figures when remaping cars i.e Mk1 fabia vRS stage one remap = 165bhp. We all know that most make more than this but this is a conservative figure.

Btw are you running 190bhp from a stage one remap and standard turbo?

Cheers, Elliott

Here we go again... :giggle:

Hello everyone I don't want to start a war on this just put it up and to see where was the best place was to get a new maf sensor from.

Good news, I got a Bosch one today from tps for £79 which ain't bad and the mpg as gone up whoop whoop took it alittle run (30 miles) ish and went back to see Ben at shark aswell. He said that give a week or so, and it will be even better.

Cheers Ant

Ant, glad you're sorted mate, and good to meet you yesterday.

Wilsy7, take care when making unfounded sweeping statements about justifiably well regarded companies.

You were wrong, and its not on :wonder:

I wasn't aware that the maf resulted in power loss until this thread developed so thats my mistake.
