Another piece of advice needed!

I have the following: brodit cigarette lighter phone holder & cigarette lighter splitter.

My question is. If I chop off the fag lighter socket of the splitter (it only has 2 wires, live and ground I guess). Can I connect this to the fag lighter wiring under the console to provide a permanent live? I guess that black is live and brown is ground?

Then route the splitter under the console and the fag connector from the brodit holder all connected together to form a neat invisible job?

Any other alternatives welcome also.

I'd like to know this too, I've got the same setup and it looks a bit pikey with the cig lighter socket.

You could wire it directly to the fuse box on the key live for the stereo. It would only be live when the key was in. Go to halfords and ask if you can get one of the hardwire sockets. (its what they use for wiring in Satnavs perminantly) I use to use about 8 a week when I was doing all my fittings.

Any idea how much the hard wire kit from Halfrauds costs?
