And she's running like a charm.

17 months and 16 days old and still love driving it everyday.

Been ultra reliable and it had its first service just about a month ago and apart from tyres has been the only expense. Only warranty replacements were the wheel centre caps and rear badge due to water ingress.

Also had an issue last year with condensation in the headlights, but touch wood as of this year hasn't come back.

The only thing i am disappointed with is the paintwork on the front bumper which seems very soft. But with the state of the roads nowadays and stone chips galore i am sure i will get it resprayed in the not too distant future when i can't bear them anymore.

The CR engine with the DSG is just brilliant and using launch control can do 0-60 in 6.98 seconds as recorded at GTI International this year. That coupled with the MPG of 50+ which is easily achievable, it is the best of both worlds.

The only problem with the car, is that it is that good, i will not know what to replace it with when the time comes (Good few years down the line yet i reckon!)

I have to agree with you. I am also loving mine (less the DSG). I never thought I could bear, let alone love a diesel, but there you go, it's that good!

seems like you're doing similar mileage to me..........and getting as much enjoyment.

query - how do you do launch control please?!

Gear selector in S or tip, ESP off, left foot on brake and then right foot buried in the accelerator. If it tries to pull it hasn't worked, it should sit there not pulling at 2k rpm, then just release the brake B)

awesome, ta.

might try it...........just the once. ;)

6.98 wow that's good from a diesel. I assume it's at stage 1?

Makes me wonder what mine will do.

I failed to mention, it is UNmodified ;)

A standard petrol VRS, MK2, has been timed at 6.6s through the 0-60.

You can often get a second or more off the book value ie diesel Fabia VRS would do low 8s on a nice warm day etc.

The book value is an average ie for a mixture of conditions.

I reckon with the DSG you could get 6.5 easily in the right conditions (dry day, cold air and a tarmac sticky track - i did mine on a warm day on concrete, boot full of stuff and half a tank of fuel) and you get the gear change spot on if you use manual mode - which i did as the S mode seems to hold on to the gears a fraction too long.

Agreed with your comment on the S mode. Well I am at roughly 255bhp and 420Nm of torque. Maybe I should 0-60 it!

Glad you are enjoying it still.

Very kind of your passenger to take a pic for you whilst you were driving :giggle:

Why aren't you on variable doing that mileage!

dont ask, i wasnt told about it until i took out the service deal and Skoda refused to change it to variable whilst i was in the deal. Last service saturday - variable servicing here i come!

ah thats ok then :giggle:

having mine serviced tomorrow (2nd service). 38k 12 months old. 2.0 Diesel DSG L&K.

besides a couple of problems, it has been great.

had to complain to Skoda as the price of the service between the dealers ranges by £200.00

I have mine on variable to get the stamp and then do an interim oil change myself to keep it more healthy. Saves money and gets the same treatment as fixed essentially.
