Boot tool kit

Featured Replies

Just picked up my 2005 vRS and noticed that some tools are missing from the toolkit that sits in the spare wheel.

Could someone tell me what should be in it or post a picture of the toolkit so I can see what I have missing.

Thanks

Locking wheel nut

Scissor jack

Small bar (with the correct size socket for wheels built into the end)

Towing eye

Black U shaped tool for removing nut covers

Think that's about it tbh

There should be a double ended screwdriver

and a hand grenade pin nut cover remover in there too.

The screwdriver (black handle with nut spinner built in) should have a double endded tool (phillips & slot) this should fit into the end of the bent bar (for undoing/tightening the wheel nuts) for storage.

The black u shaped plastic bit you got if you had alloys (for the nut covers)...the hand grenade pin you got if you had steel wheels with wheel covers! B)

Hmmm... looks like mine's incomplete. The handbook doesn't LIST the screwdriver but then refers to one. And it's missing in any case. I also have the "grenade pin" and a non-standard cap remover...

I have taken a photo but photobucket isn't working at present.

EDIT - now working:

My previous post was wrong re the position or the screwdriver (I was thinking of my POLO's that I had)... :giggle:

The screwdriver go's in the slot between the grenade pin and the black plastic "U" B)

Spanner?

Nether of our Fabias came with this screwdriver. (53 and 04).

I must admit I don't remember my 2004 one having a screwdriver and the (secondhand) 2007 one doesn't as you can see. I don't think I have a photo of the 2004's tool though to check.

Spanner?

WELL SPOTTED SIR!

Top Left of the picture in the two raised bits...for a double ended spanner...now need to double check mine later on!!! B)

Here's another image - again no spanner/screwdriver

Thanks for all the info. I have exactly like the last picture but as it has places for screwdriver etc I assumed it was missing, but it doesnt look like it is now.

Thanks for the pics, might help me get my jack back into the slot that's designed for it. As with many things, it came out in a fraction of a second but can I get the damn thing back in? Can I hell as like.

I wouldn't be surprised if the screwdriver is missing. I've rechecked and don't have a photo of my 2004 one so can't tell for sure. In any case I have a comprehensive Halfords Motorists' Toolkit in the boot too so it doesn't worry me.
