Possible rust coming through.

Featured Replies

Has anyone else suffered from rust on the rear arch down by the sill, lower part of the rear doors and also boot lid below the window?

Noticed a few bubbles appearing which I can only assume is rust from the inside out.

not on the sills but below the rear window is common one

Yep, mine had some there (sills).

Never bothered claiming as I was planning on selling.

GGot a bit on offside rear arch and bits of lacquer peel. My car is over ten years old now though, so to be expected to a point.

Off side rear arch at door sill, At four years old, dealer questioned if damaged and repaired NO

Noticed rust bubbles/paint bubbles all along the rear seams (just above the rear number plate).

Skoda dealer didn't wanna know when I asked about it.

rear offside arch there are a few bubbles, i was told by skoda swindon that its not covered under warranty as a stone could have chipped the paint off and caused it to rust

Thanks for the replies. Seems like a common issue then. Do we know what can cause it or is theirs anything we can do to prevent it? I know with an mx5 you need to check the drain holes don't get blocked.
