Coilover advice

Had Weitec's on my VR6, hated them! Far too crashy!

Well after 1700km driven last week I think something needs to be done. It actually seemed to ride better with two and a half people on board and a boot packed with luggage.

But I need to face the reality that this is a family car not my boyracer special.

The high speed ride is okay but bumps and potholes make quite a bang at 100kph.

But low speed is crashy and bouncy and not at all comfortable.

So it's either back to the original plan of lowering springs and Koni FSDs, maybe Bilsteins, or risk spending the big money on KW V3s and hope the low speed ride can be made comfortable enough.

I love the way the car is so flat on corners and during braking and I love the lowered look but I need the car to be usable and SWMBO to be happy! Or I'll end up driving an auto Mazda all the time while my lovely Skoda languishes in the garage.

Just buy a better car for SWMBO lol, she will love you for it and your skoda gets to be the Boyracer toy lol

so is that ride with the new stuff or still the VMaxx?

ne mind last lol, Just read the post fully

Tell the SWMBO how you'd love a set of KW Clubsports, but how the 'budget' V3's might just do - they're only half the price afterall ...

From Awesome - H&R springs, and Koni FSDs come out at GPB580ish including new top mounts and bearings.

Compared to 1040 for KW V3s :o

840 for H&R Coilovers

Plus delivery, import duty and tax

I'm at it again. I need to pop over to the UK and drive some of your cars :)

£1040 ? Is that without tax? I payed just a bit more than that and was lucky as everywhere else was 100 more and the site I got them from even said that they were the wrong price but as it was advertised at tha they would honour it. Hour later the price had gone up £150 lol.

Lucky or what.

Can't wait to get them on. Ill weigh my box mate, might be able to come over and take some back?

That's without tax yes. Exports are VAT free as you pay GST and duty when the goods land.

Rgr

I was gonna say at that price I'd get another set lol.

That's still a fair chunk.

Ill weigh the box if you like n see what it comes to. Mind if you buy them here, pack in a suitcase wrapped really well in bubble wrap and take back that way would you still get away with not payin tax? Then claim the vat back from here?

Would the vat not pay for the flight?

Nah flights are about $3,500 from NZ to UK return economy.

Still pondering this as I currently have no cash to spend. Anyone have a pic of how the vRS sits on the -20mm H&Rs?

Got lots of recommendations for H&R coilovers, or Bilstein/Koni shocks with the H&R springs.

Ruling out KW V3s on cost :)
