Water Rushing Noise?

Featured Replies

Picked up my 2005 vRS last Friday and have spent the weekend cleaning and doing a few things that needed doing. Fantastic little car.

I have a question and I am sure more will follow as I get to know its quirks and habits.

When ever I start the car I get a noise that sounds like a rush of water with bubbles in it, its very difficult to describe. It seems to come from the footwell area but I cant be sure.

Is this normal and if not any ideas what it could be.

Many thanks

Hi, this noise is getting "faster" as you are revving your engine. Right?

Probably previous owner changed the coolant and the circuit kept some air in. You need to go to your mechanic and perform "evaporation". There is a valve (like a tap) need to be opened, release the air and fill up the circuit with coolant. It takes no more than 10 minutes.

That'll be the fuel pump priming the lines. Completely normal :)
