18 inch tyres.....

Featured Replies

A favour to ask for those Octy owners who have upgraded to 18's. I need a couple of new fronts (225/40 ZR18). What tyres are you guys using? What are your thoughts and how much did you pay for them?

I'm currently running Toyo Proxes T1-S and although happy with the dry weather performance and longevity (18k miles) they are pretty ****e in the wet. Understeers like a good 'un on damp roundabouts at modest speed. Also there is absolutely zero rim protection.

Ta muchly :D

I have gone through a lot of high performance tyres i also get tyres at cost price have a look at www.tyretest.com witch will tell you how good every tyre is. I found toyos ware nice but don't last very long i would recommend Kumhos greet tyre and also not over priced i can get kumho tyres in your size for

P-Zero Rosso's for me - had about 3 or 4 sets of them now! Always great tyres - can't remember how much i paid but pm Phil (Piv34UK) @ Merrityre in Thame for some good prices! I'll probably have something different next time - not because there is anything wrong with the Rosso's - just to try something else!

I found the PZero Rosso's great in the dry, not so great in the wet, useless once they wore down... Vredestein Ultracs simply didn't suit the car - felt very poor even though performance was ok, but wet grip not as good as the Goodyear GSD3's... also, I've not noticed the GSD3's to lose grip as they wear, unlike the Pirelli's or Vredesteins...

My recommendation? Same as the Police use - GSD3's.

Hmmm. Rang my local tyre dealer this morning (used him before a fair bit and he's always very competetive) but nothing available. Anyway, rang me back this afternoon to say they can get me a couple of Vredestein Ultracs and fit, balance, supply new valves and dispose of my old ones for
