not really new, but...

Featured Replies

I'm not really a proper newbie. I've been here a long time dropping in everynow and then and intending to buy a VRS for the last 5 years.

I finally decided to bite the bullet and found a couple of Mk1 Skoda Octavia VRS' for decent money. But, then the wife suggested I extended the budget and looked at Mk2 versions.

I found one at a dealers in Doncaster - in red, petrol engine and another in Yellow.

The yellow one had done 167,000 miles so that was ruled out and the red one ... well, honestly, I put the wrong postcode into sat nav and ended up at a different dealers where I've signed the papers on a Black magic TDI for considerably more money than I originally intended.

I pick it up tomorrow afternoon and I'm so excited I actually might wee.

Pictures to follow tomorrow and I can finally be a proper briskoda member.

I love this story how you accidentally brought a different car to what you wanted to look at lol! Look forward to seeing some pictures :)

Pictures taken today.

They're not of the best quality, taken in the Tesco car park and on my phone but I've been too busy driving to do anything else.

Really, really love the car, quick, spacious, comfortable, well specced and sporty looking without being chav. It's a perfect car for me as I'm aproaching 30 and am newly married with a new baby. The perfect blend of practicality for the family and fun for me.

Since I'm new to this what is Skoda etiquette? When I see another (particularly a VRS) am I supposed to wave?

Hello, a real nice looking car. The octy is perfect for your senario. Much like myself, married with child, have had the boot loaded to the max loads of times, and it never bats an eyelid at it...
