what to expect from 230-234bhp

Featured Replies

Hi all

looking to upgrade to hybrid turbo power in the next few months and wanted some idea as what performance figures I can expect.

also is there anything I need to be aware of maintenance / running wise and would you recommend this upgrade or not

cheers folks

Opening a can of worms here mate but im pretty sure without upgrading injectors you wont be getting 230bhp from what ive read on here.

210bhp I think is max.

Depends which song sheet people are singing from, people have RR figures of 260bhp + but recently this has been almost proven wrong by Shark Performance.

Either way someone on here has a car that does a low 13' 1/4 which is pretty quick regardless of hp.

You're looking at an absolute max of 230bhp really, unless you get quite a few other mods to help with air delivery or the mapping is requesting too much boost. Expect a 60mph time of about 6.5, quarter mile of about 14 flat (depending on conditions) and top speed of 145 to 150. Personally I just like the in-gear speed of a tuned car. Have a verified 30 to 70 in mine of 4.1 seconds with a gearchange. :D

The sweet spot seems to be about 200bhp or just over.

If you start going silly it costs a lot and you have to upgrade a lot of the other parts on the car to cope.

BossFox. Just correct. Say no more. 200bhp and 275 ft/lb I am at on a standard clutch with no more smoke than a normal mapped car and perfect reliability. 13.14 to 1/4 mile and 5.67 to 60. The power figures mau be way off with less hp and a little more torque apparently as AMD tend to show "off" results. Really happy with my car as a daily driver.

Good luck with the mods

Ross

I could only get 200bhp out of mine at 1.9 bar

Saying that turbo was 60k old so maybe lost 10bhp or so over the years

Or maybe just a realistic rr

Im thinking of going hybrid too - any reliability issues? Will be a daily driver

thats pretty good performance for 200bhp and 275ft'lb - are you using anything else to enhance the power. - I'm currently running 186bhp and 328 ft/lb with a sachs performance clutch but aren't sure of my times - will have to do some testing I think

Your quarter mile time seems to have dropped by a second Ross...

Thought it was 14.15(ish)

Still impressive though.

Well spotted lol 14.15 (face palm) sorry for the confusion.

Reliable, I'd recommend staying away from aggressive maps. And be very aware of top speed runs. Full throttle for long periods of time = hot turbo. Bad news.

My turbo has had no problems in 10k of very hard driving.

Would be getting a custom smooooth map :) and Im not bothered about top speeds I just want acceleration really

Same as me. Ally at unit 18 will sort out a perfect map at a very good price. A lot of the reason I don't like other maps is because of un usable rev range. Mine pulls strong to just past 5k

I'm confident that my car will be 100% reliable now I have the oil cooler IF I don't sit at 150mph for very long... Last time I done it my turbo started whining badly, I need to get that sorted but other than that it's just the same as Ross' except it's faster and smokes more lol...

Bye !

150mph, hope this is on ya track day lol

I drove up to Santa Pod with Luke and Ross and I thought they drove quite sensibly. :D

...maybe they didn't want to leave me behind.

How does your stage 3 compare to the stage 2 fabia's

Much difference?

A bit, but they seem to have taken out half their interiors. :D

My best quarter mile on the day was half a second faster than Luke (x4oas) who was about that much faster than Ross.

Like most events you'll never get an exact comparison engine wise, mine has better traction and more weight.

I still think for road driving anything more than Ross's car is overkill.

It's a little slower, but very smooth and you don't have to rob a bank to build it. All most people need.

Mine was built to see track use.
